The Canadian quintet "Buzz Brass" presents an astonishingly rich and dramatic new recording of this spectacular original instrumentation for brass quintet and organ. The power, energy and depth of field of this recording was achieved by using two Neuman U67 microphones on Gemini lifts at a height of 75 feet and recorded on an AMPEX 354 tube magnetophone with NAB EQ curve.
This edition, mastered by René Laflamme, contains two audiophile SM900 tapes recorded at 15 ips in CCIR (also available in NAB) on two symmetrical metal coils, manufactured in Germany by Feinwerktechnik Allgäu. This is supplemented by an accompanying booklet.
