It was the first album of the band, in which not dazzling and powerful brass arrangements, but rather the vocals were in the foreground. Head To The Sky is a powerful and very spiritual work with an exciting mix of African rhythms, gospel influences, fusion, rock, tribal funk, Latin rhythms and improvised jazz, and with Evil and Keep Your Head To The Sky Earth, Wind & Fire had their first big hits. With the change from an unpolished soul/funk combo to a band with that certain something that inspires with its refined and smooth sound, the way was prepared for the upcoming breakthrough.
Remastered by Steve Hoffman and Stephen Marsh for Audio Fidelity Records, the re-release of Head To The Sky is released in excellent 4.0 Quad Hybrid SACD quality in a limited, numbered edition.
