The Berliner Philharmoniker performs Bizet and Gounod, conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Recorded December 28-29, 1970 (Bizet) and January 1971 (Gounod), at Jesus-Christus-Kirche, Berlin.
The Berliner Philharmoniker will perform Bizet's "Carmen Suite 1" and "L'Arlésienne Suites 1 & 2" as well as Gounod's "Faust Ballet Music" under the baton of Herbert von Karajan. The "L'Arlésienne Suites" will be accompanied by the gifted saxophonist Daniel Deffayet, who has recorded with numerous greats of the classical music world.

The criterion of re-mastering is to faithfully capture the quality of the original master. Esoteric's flag ship D/A converters, model Grandioso D1X, Master clock generator model Grandioso G1X and Esoteric Mexcel interconnect cables and power cords, were all used for this re-mastering session. This combination of highly advanced technology greatly contributed to capturing the high quality sound of the original master.
