In this recording, the "Cannonball Adderley Quintet" warmed up for the jazz classic par excellence: "Kind of Blue". With the exception of Miles Davis, everyone who formed the milestone just a month later is gathered here, including Bill Evans, who replaced Wynton Kelly on some of the songs.
Adderley and Coltrane can be heard in a lively exchange that wonderfully shows the two contrasting styles of the saxophonists.
