In 1954, the "Queen of Jazz Singing" released this early masterpiece together with jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown and some other excellent musicians such as Herbie Mann and Paul Quinichette. Their famous interpretation of "Lullaby of Birdland" opens the session, which is considered a highlight in jazz singing. Connoisseurs praise the album as one of the strongest in Vaughan's career, with a great vocal performance and a virtuoso Brown.
With the "Verve Acoustic Sounds" series, Universal Japan reissues great recordings from the "Verve" label with the best possible sound quality.
