This sampler was originally released in 2008 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Thorens company as a 3-LP set and quickly found many fans in the audiophile scene. 27 songs from the fields of classical, blues, rhythm & blues, jazz and female vocals were lovingly selected by Acoustic Sounds owner Chad Kassem and the experts for audiophile (classical) recordings from Reference Recordings. Each of the tracks is excellently interpreted, perfectly recorded and immaculately mastered; a delight that is now finally available as a double hybrid multi-channel SACD!
What separates the world-renowned Quality Record Pressings LPs from other manufacturers? Since Acoustic Sounds CEO Chad Kassem launched QRP in 2011, the focus has been on producing consistently virtually silent vinyl playing surfaces, as well as reproducing details that were hallmarks of vintage labels — the "deep groove" label of Blue Note LPs, for example.
