The 20-year-old Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy travelled to Scotland for a few weeks in 1829, where he created one of his most famous works: Symphony No.3 in A minor, "Scottish". This recording by the London Symphony Orchestra together with the Swiss conductor Peter Maag took place in 1960 in London's legendary "Kingsway Hall", which has been defunct since 1998.
