This release is the tenth in the highly acclaimed "Pittsburgh Live!" series on the label FRESH! by Reference Recordings. Since 2008, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has been under the musical direction of Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck. For this recording, they jointly interpret Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony in the usual excellent quality. In addition, a first recording of the Double Concerto for clarinet and bassoon by the American composer Jonathan Leshnoff can be heard. The soloists are Michael Rusinek (clarinet) and Nancy Goeres (bassoon). The multi-channel hybrid SACD was created at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.
