Brothers From Another Mother Happy Hour CD

More than 15 years ago, "Jazz from Greece" still flew under the radar of the experts. This is no longer the case: The Greek jazz scene is growing, thriving and bringing truly wonderful blossoms to light. Just think of the great releases of Petros Klampanis or Stravos Lantsias. "Brothers From Another Mother" is a music collective founded in 2015 by drummer Spyros Panagiotopoulos and has since completed a long series of performances in the Athens jazz scene. The group first began by working on selected standards from the hard pop era of jazz. At the same time, the members began to work on their own compositions, influenced by the style and aesthetics of the era.
And so they came to record their debut album in the spring of 2019: "Happy Hour" was created in a single, five-hour session in Studio E of the Greek Radio and Television (ERT). The live recording captures the spontaneous energy and chemistry of the band, which consists of six of the most important personalities of the Greek jazz scene. The brilliant-sounding re-release of Ikaros Music's 2020 CD features nine original compositions that showcase the ensemble's coherent interplay and individual virtuosity.
The record label of the "Hellenic Jazz Society" began operations in June 2024 - with the aim of producing high-fidelity albums of the local jazz scene. The steady rise of the Greek jazz scene has led "HJS" to promote talented Greek musicians at home and abroad. All albums of the Hellenic Jazz Society are recorded according to extremely high quality standards. HJS's previous releases have been enthusiastically received by trade media, music lovers and audiophiles worldwide!
