Foreigner Head Games
Numbered, Limited Edition! Half-Speed Mastered from the 1/4"/15 IPS Analog Master to Analog Console to Lathe: Sound Explodes With Tremendous Dynamics, Soaring Vocal Timbres!
Foreigner's platinum-selling winning streak continued on Head Games, the band's third album. Tailor-made for the airwaves, songs such as "Dirty White Boy" and "Head Games" kept Foreigner at the top of the arena rock heap as the decade came to a close; and the supergroup's successes would continue well into the '80s.
With "Head Games", the hard rockers of Foreigner continued their series of successes in 1979. The band's third album, like the debut and its predecessor, was also crowned with platinum several times. With their melodic rock, they hit exactly the tone of the teenagers from the suburbs and at the same time were harmless enough to please their parents. Strong guitars, hard rhythms, an edgy and lean sound made Foreigner one of the most sought-after stadium rock bands of the 80s.
The remastering for Mobile Fidelity was made by Krieg Wunderlich (assisted by Shawn R. Britton). The classic comes along with new, powerful dynamics and a previously unheard instrumental division in the room. Even long-time fans will hear details that were previously imperceptible. The 180-gram vinyl LP is released in a gatefold cover with a consecutive serial number in a limited edition.
In August 1979, the release of the album was preceded by its first single, the hard rock "Dirty White Boy," which peaked at No.12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album itself continued Foreigner's popularity, climbing to No.5 on the Billboard 200 chart and receiving a platinum certification four months after it hit the stores. By now, Head Games has gained a 5× Platinum status for selling at least 5 million copies in the United States. The next singles were the title track and "Women," which reached No. 14 and 41, respectively.
Head Games continued in the vein of Foreigner's previous successful albums, maintaining a consistent quality of music that fans had come to expect.
