The Grammy-nominated American composer and pianist is one of the busiest studio and live drummers in the world: The Notorious B.I.G., Carlos Santana, Barbra Streisand, James Brown, Henry Mancini, Sérgio Mendes, the London Symphony Orchestra and many other musicians have made and continue to make use of the arts of this exceptional talent. As a former member of Herbie Hancock's band Headhunters, for whom he co-wrote the hit "Chameleon", and co-founder of the contemporary jazz group Fourplay, Mason initiated a project with various trio formations that was frenetically celebrated by fans and the trade media: "Changing Partners: Trios".
