Come Fly with Me By Amsterdam Jazz Trio was written by Jimmy Van Heusen and was first recorded and released by Frank Sinatra in 1958. The Trio are Jochem Braat on piano, Adrie Braat on double bass and Tijn Jans on drums.
Today in the audiophile world, one of said pleasures is our beloved music, and if you like smooth jazz and piano, you must have it. This analogue tape recording was made by STS’ Fritz de With at the Bimhuis, Amsterdam on 30th October 2019. It’s a pure analogue recording made on Nagra recorders, with an analogue mixer, fed by Schoeps’ sublime MK21 microphones. As is usual with STS Analog master copies, the actual (original) master is played back on a Nagra Audio T studio master recorder and fed to a Phillips N4522 open reel tape recorder, and Recording The Masters LPR35 tape stock is used which, being a long-play variant of the studio-bred SM911, is perfect for this application.
This is not just music, it’s medicine for the soul. Amsterdam Jazz Trio handle this with a bounce, a melodic flow, a softness and an easy-going nature listen to the music which is beautiful, natural, easy and accessible. Yes, this album tape lifts and cheers, as it lulls, seduces and relaxes.
The album was recorded semi-live at the Bimhuis Amsterdam on 30th October 2019 by Fritz de With.
