For over 40 years, "Esther Ofarim's 1st Album" has been considered a reference for sophisticated songs and dynamic, crystal-clear and all-round perfect sound. More than a decade of joint world career with her then husband Abi preceded this LP, and the "1st album" was an expression of Esther's new start as a solo singer. Esther Ofarim presents herself with an extremely melodic, cheerful, cheeky, but also partly melancholic repertoire.
Unfortunately, the original version of this masterpiece is sold out – but for those who don't own it yet, there is now a new, even better sounding version!
But can such a record, an audiophile classic that can be found in thousands of record collections, really be improved? Birgit Hammer-Sommer and Dirk Sommer, the sound professionals of "sommelier du son", and their team accepted the challenge for a re-mastering. Together with Christoph Stickel from the cs mastering studio in Vienna, they have carefully restored the original master tapes.
Thorsten Scheffner is responsible for the cutting of the lacquer foils in his Organic Music Studio – after minor tonal corrections to optimize the traceability. His studio is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from Manley, Higher Fidelity and PS Audio, as well as a cutting system from Scully and Vinylium.
In the course of the vinyl revival, Optimal Media has built one of the world's most modern and highest-quality record pressing plants in Röbel an der Müritz. There, Dirk Mahlstedt from the Künstlerhafen in Bernau coordinated the production.
The result is an even higher sound quality – indeed a revelation for sound and music lovers. A real gift for fine ears from 1972. THE reference record for assessing the analogue playback chain.
