Elisabeth Lohninger and Band
The history of this album is "a little longer". They do exist, these strokes of luck in which, even in music, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Elisabeth Lohninger was actually supposed to give a concert at the Analog Days in 2022, accompanied by Axel Fischbacher and his trio. The capital C threw a spanner in the works for the project in 2022. Norbert Lehmann, however, did not want to miss out on himself and the music lovers to experience Elisabeth live and on record.
So he contacted her again for the 2023 Analogue Days and Elisabeth Lohninger fortunately had time. She also had ideas for the members of the band and so after a short time the line-up was fixed: Christine Corvisier, a Frenchwoman living in Cologne on tenor saxophone, who has also been successful with her own group for some time. She has a wide stylistic range and plays with a breathtaking energy. Jean Yves Jung, a keyboard magician from France at the piano. Cliff Schmitt, a veteran on the double bass, who has accompanied musicians such as Norah Jones, Art Garfunkel, Till Brönner and Curtis Stigers in thousands of concerts. Alex Bernath, groove drummer par excellence has played with Elisabeth Lohninger several times and is otherwise the backbone of e.g. Ray Greene, lead singer of Santana. He has just been approached by Tower of Power.
What the five conjured up on that evening in October 2023 at Bauer Studios can only be described with the word "magical".
