AAA Audiophile 200g 45rpm Double LP!
Mastered by René Laflamme from the Original Analog Master!
Cut All Analog at Bernie Grundman Mastering!
Jazz pianist Monty Alexander and his backing band presented themselves at their best at a live gig in 1982 at the legendary "Bubba's Jazz Restaurant" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born in Jamaica in 1944, Alexander was celebrated by jazz greats such as Kenny Barron for his carefree, soulful playing, which also makes the listener resonate happily at this performance.
This audiophile 24-track recording by Mack Emerman, founder of the legendary "Criteria Recording Studios" (Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin), was mastered by René Laflamme and released as a double LP at 45 rpm.
This 2021 winner of Positive Feedback's Writers Choice Award was captured live in 1982, at Fort Lauderdale's Club Bubba. Recorded by Criteria Recording Studios' Legendary Founder Mack Emerman, this is Monty at his best, with a great band and incredibly high energy performance.
"Here we find a tight quartet featuring bassist Paul Berner, Duffy Jackson on drums and extra percussion from Robert Thomas, Jr. Performing truly spirited, generous 92 minutes of an exceptionally well-recorded and finely remastered performance. You really don't have to be a beard stroking Jazzer to enjoy this. An ear for a great recording of fine performances will do." - Andre Everard, Hi-Fi News & Review, 5/5
"Love You Madly by Monty Alexander and his men is such an extraordinary album that reflects the joy of playing, musicality, ability, but also the mutual engagement and takes you from A to Z. Live at Bubba's is an absolute recommendation!" - Christian Hunziker, AV Guide, 5/5
"Culled from Monty Alexander's own collection, the album reveals the pianist at the peak of his powers. He delves into a wide-ranging set that dips into Jazz and Brazilian standards, Blues, and Reggae. Each expertly evinced by the pianist and his group." - JAZZIZ
