With Duke Ellington's "Indigos" from 1958, Impex Records reissues the timeless jazz orchestra classic in the finest audiophile quality. As a double LP with 45 rpm and a mastering by Chris Bellmann, the title gets its deserved space, and for the first time this pressing also contains four analogue mono bonus tracks ("Night and Day", "All The Things Are You", "The Sky Fell Down" and "Love").
The Ellington Orchestra was not only a great jazz band, but also played at countless dance events at universities across America. This album creates exactly this mood that Duke Ellington's audience loved so much: well-known standards, played with the personal touch of the band. "Indigos" is a collection of elegant and romantic ballads by the master of American large-group jazz.
