Limited Edition 180g Vinyl LP - Only 1000 Copies!
Remastered From The Original Mono Master Tapes!
Pressed by Optimal in Germany Using The Metal Mothers From Pallas!
Recorded in Paris in October 1959.
This studio recording by American trumpeter and flugelhorn player Clark Terry was recorded in 1959 for the French label Decca and is considered a rarity. Sam Records is pleased to make the session recorded in MONO accessible to jazz fans again.
The rhythm section consisting of Duke Ellington orchestra musicians (including Terry, who is considered one of the best trumpeters in this group) cuts a great figure with his leader; contrary to the widespread critics' opinions that the Ellington Orchestra works well only led by Ellington. The combo plays great together, Gonsalves proves to be a perfect counterpart to Terry. Interpretations of titles by Ellington, Thelonious Monk and Babs Gonzales shine alongside original compositions such as "Serenade to a Bus Seat", which is the gold piece of this wonderful recording.
