Recorded at the Studio Acousti, Paris, September 23, 1965.
The founding member of "The Jazz Modes" and the "Les McCann Trio", drummer Ron Jefferson, formed his own band, the "Ron Jefferson Choir", during his stay in Paris in the mid-60s. This album recording was offered to him by Polydor International after he was allowed to play a series of concerts in his motherland Senegal in addition to successful performances in Paris. The influence of the trip is evident, for example, in the great track "Africa The Beautiful", where Jefferson can be heard with flute and Senegalese percussion.
