Miles Davis In A Silent Way
180g Vinyl! Pressed at RTI!
Delicate, Immersing, Dynamic: Mobile Fidelity Reissue Magnifies the Bold Textures, Soothing Ambience, and Transcendent Moods!
With the album "In A Silent Way" released in 1969 and its successor "Bitches Brew", Miles Davis helped the still young style of fusion jazz to deserve recognition. Previously, trumpet and tenor saxophone determined the arc of suspense, but now electric guitar, synthesizers and effects devices found their way into the rehearsal and recording rooms. "In A Silent Way" redefined the possibilities of recording studios, changed the artist-producer relationship and brought rock and jazz closer together. The band composition consisted of jazz greats John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zwainul, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland and Tony Williams.
Williams' ingenuity, which makes the cymbals of the drums shimmer like silver in the sunlight, Davis' nocturnal trumpet that sounds within reach in the room, Shorter's spreading saxophone and Holland's bass combine to create one of the most atmospheric jazz albums ever recorded. The Mobile Fidelity remastering will be released as a 180g vinyl LP with a sequential serial number. Krieg Wunderlich is responsible for the half-speed mastering. We recommend: "Shhh"... and enjoyable listening.
