Horace Tapscott Tapscott + Winds

Previously unreleased, "Tapscott + Winds" shows a new side of the American jazz pianist Horace Tapscott. In a trio with saxophonist Kafi Roberts and flutist Aubrey Hart, a pure, beautiful album has been created. On the page-long "Golden Pearl" with its hypnotic, almost meditative mood, Tapscott repeatedly takes a step back and lets the brass shine in the foreground, while on side B he proves what an inventive modernist he is in a great recording of the Clifford Jordan piece "Spellbound".
