Various Artists Volume Six: Leo Betzl Trio - Swing On Vinyl

With explosive artistic energy and solo experimentation, the Munich Leo Betzl Trio has made a name for itself among jazz fans. In their current program "MAKE KIN" (ENJA Records) they play purely acoustically generated techno – from lyrical to industrial. For Jazz on Vinyl, the three musicians have embarked on a trip back to the roots of jazz. A matter of the heart that becomes captivatingly audible in the joy of playing of the trio. Lovers of the swing of the 30s and 40s will get their money's worth.
All tracks on Swing on Vinyl were written especially for this production. The recordings for page A were made in the legendary jazz club Unterfahrt, whose acoustics convey an unadulterated club atmosphere. The B-side was created in the studio of Manfred Mildenberg, whose intimate, direct "living room" sound captivates the listener. At both locations, producer Dominique Klatte worked exclusively with analog technology and microphones from Neumann, AKG and HRRM. The grand piano and drums have changed sides on side B.
