Half-Speed Mastered 180g 45rpm Virgin Vinyl!
Pressed at Quality Record Pressings!
This perennial audiophile favorite is one of Prof. Keith Johnson's all-time best recordings of the Minnesota Orchestra. A wonderful and magical performance!
Under star conductor Eiji Oue, who led the orchestra from 1995 to 2002, the Minnesota Orchestra recorded numerous highly acclaimed recordings in collaboration with Reference Recordings. The exciting and masterful interpretation of Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" was the orchestra's first recording under Oue's direction in 1996.
This recording is one of the best of the famous ensemble and earned RR mastermind Keith Johnson a Grammy nomination in HDCD format in 1997. Remastered in the half-speed process by Paul Stubblebine, this special treat for every music lover is now available as an LP with 45 rpm on 180g vinyl.
180 gram or 200 gram pressing – a not easy question
For identical titles from Reference Recordings, there are covers with the inscription 180 g, which contain LPs that weigh around 200 g, and vice versa. This is because the commissioned pressing plants QRT and RTI in the USA specify a 10 percent tolerance for weight and then occasionally simply get the orders mixed up. In terms of sound, the pressings do not differ. Please: Do not call Sieveking Sound so that someone goes out and unpacks an LP especially for you and puts it on the scales!
