EXPO I – A neoclassical compilation in a class of its own With the compilation EXPO I, Deutsche Grammophon presents unique musical approaches, both in terms of compositions and interpretations. Through loving curating, the comprehensive, versatile spectrum of a young genre is presented, which is characterized by special, effective sound worlds and repeatedly breaks with traditional conventions.
Multi-layered artists such as Max Richter and Jóhann Jóhannsson, who have already won countless prizes with their contributions, not only in the field of film music, meet the old masters of the genre such as Steve Reich, Ludovico Einaudi or Hans-Joachim Roedelius. They are joined by renowned artists from various musical fields such as Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire), Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead) or Tale of Us, who prove here that they can also go other ways.
The compilation is complemented by a high-quality 20-page booklet, in which the elaborately designed artwork comes into its own.
As a bonus, the album contains the previously unreleased CFCF remix of Max Richter's "Berlin by Overnight".
