RCA Living Stereo classical LPs - the gold standard for top quality orchestral performance and sound!
Stunning performances of Heifetz showpieces with Sir Malcolm Sargent and the New Symphony Orchestra of London. Recorded in May 1962 by Kenneth Wilkinson and the Decca Recording team at Walthamstow Hall. This is a must have for all audiophiles! The original 2-track session tapes were used in mastering for this LP in the Analogue Productions reissue series.
Jascha Heifetz plays the violin on these two recordings from 1961, which were made in England. It was also he who opted for the unusual combination of the two compositions for violin. Henri Vieuxtemps' Violin Concerto No. 5 is one of the less frequently performed works, and in the version with all three movements it has probably been recorded even less frequently. The better-known Scottish Fantasies of Bruch show the tendency of this period to fit enough material for an entire symphony into one concert.
