Laudate II Baroque Music From The Duben Collection

In the 1970s, the Swedish label Proprius produced a whole series of extremely realistic-sounding music recordings, which are still praised by audiophiles for their excellent sound quality. Laudate II, released in 1981, is the second recording of Proprius by the Uppsala Academy Chamber Choir and Drottningholms Baroque Ensemble conducted by Anders Eby. On display are seven pieces from the Düben collection, the largest private sheet music collection of compositions from the 17th and 18th centuries, which is now part of the holdings of the Uppsala University Library.
What at first glance seems like a niche product for musicologists was one of the label's greatest commercial successes. The flawless technical execution of the recording in combination with accessible baroque music recorded on historical instruments guarantee 45 minutes of listening pleasure. Reason enough for Fabio Camorani to have the title remastered from the original tapes by Miles Showell (Abbey Road Studios) for AudioNautes.
The first 500 copies of the 180-gram LP with 33 1/3 rpm appear in numbered edition.
