Ry Cooder Paradise And Lunch
The extraordinary Slide guitarist Ry Cooder made a name for himself with albums that can be found in the record store under the term "world music". In addition, he has an excellent sense for good Songs – no matter when or where they were written. Fearlessly, he always goes new ways and explores possibilities to use the Material for himself. Paradise and Lunch is full of treasures. On this Album Cooder combines Blues and Spirituals with Bobby Womack, Burt Bacharach and Little Milton – and finds the same texture in everything. A highlight is his Version of ditty Wah ditty with jazz legend Earl "Fatha" Hines, played only with acoustic guitar and piano.
The Remastering of the original tapes for the strictly limited edition of 3,000 copies of 180g Vinyl LPs at 33 rpm was done by Krieg Wunderlich. An intelligent and thoroughly entertaining masterpiece that absolutely belongs in any audiophile music collection. Serial Number.
"Now MoFi from Cooder's op. 4 submitted his own Remaster in the Vinyl re-cut of Krieg Wunderlich: less compressed, the instruments in their presence not quite as sharp and the sound pattern slightly softer. In comparison, the Cooder Classic in the first CD Remake by Lee Herschberg sounded very nice in the highs, but in the bass range a little underexposed to slightly anemic." - Franz Schöler. Stereo, Issue 12/2017
"This Album was also available as a Reissue of Speakers Corner - MFSL sounds a bit fuller, SC a bit more nuanced." - Lothar Brandt, AUDIO, issue 9/2017
"This Album is a lesson in Americana before you even knew the term. [...] Whether the Analog Fan should now resort to the slightly more powerful MFSL or very nuanced SC Reissue depends on the personal preferences." - Lothar Brandt, MINT, issue 8/2017
