Doug MacLeod Exactly Like This (2 LP)

Exactly Like This is the third album that blues guitarist Doug MacLeod has released on Reference Recordings. The collaboration with 'Prof' Keith Johnson is successful: In 2014 MacLeod was awarded two of the most important blues awards in the USA for There's A Time . Exactly Like This contains eleven new, self-composed pieces that take up his diverse musical influences and honor role models such as Louis Jordan, Wes Montgomery, and John Lee Hooker.

Doug MacLeod assures his audience again and again at his concerts that each of his songs 'goes exactly like this'. He only plays for the audience for the evening, not just repeating a previous performance. His albums are exactly the same, each of the songs recorded with fresh esprit.

The LP version is now available as a double 45 rpm version in a hinged cover and gives the dynamics of the guitar playing excellent space. The cut was done in half-speed mastering by Paul Stubblebine.

180-gram or 200-gram pressing - a question that is not that easy.

For identical titles from Reference Recordings, there are covers labeled 180 g containing LPs that weigh around 200 g, and vice versa. This is due to the fact that the commissioned pressing plants QRT and RTI in the USA specify a 10 percent tolerance for weight on the one hand and then occasionally simply get the orders mixed up. In terms of sound, the pressings do not differ.
