In October 1960, John Coltrane created enough material for three albums during productive sessions for his album My Favorite Things on the Atlantic label. One of them is the 1961 Coltrane Plays the Blues , on which the jazz musician plays the soprano saxophone for the first time. You can also hear McCoy Tyner, Steve Davis and Elvin Jones, who record Blues to Bechet , Blues to Elvin and Blues to You , among others . The original analog master tapes were remastered by Bernie Grundman for the double 180g LP at 45 rpm. Gotta Groove Records was responsible for pressing the numbered edition, limited to 2,500 copies.
